...getting there... 10.29.09

It took us long enough to get here….whew!!! We made it to Mexico City just fine, but unfortunately our plane arrived a bit late. By the time we got off the plane, went through customs, and took a tram to the AeroMexico terminal, we missed our flight to Oaxaca. Nicole had a minor meltdown - to be expected, I mean it's our honeymoon and all, she wants it to be perfect. Our only two options were to wait until 9:00pm as stand-by passengers and cross our fingers that someone missed their flight, or take a taxi to the bus station and take the bus. We didn’t want to chance spending the night in the airport, so we opted for the bus. We learned 2 things en route to the bus station. 1) traffic lanes are merely a suggestion 2) Pedestrians must fend for their lives!!! Now we have the bus tickets, and 6-1/2 hours later, we arrive in Oaxaca. It’s now 12:30am and we both feel like greasy greasersons. I tell you, the arrival to the hotel made me think it may have been worth the wait….it’s muy bonito (very beautiful).

Next day…it’s 5pm and we’ve had a pretty full day – we’ll update you later on today’s happenings. So happy to be here in Oaxaca – we are LOVING it!!!!

Mexico, here we come!!!!

It's 4:30 in the morning and we are at the airport waiting to get on the plane. We woke up at 3am after going to bed at 11pm. Ugh. At least the airport is pleasant this early in the morning - no hustle and bustle, no line at security, things seem to be smooth sailing so far!!

Our goal is to document our travels through our blog - we'll try and keep up with it!!

10.24.09

We did it!!! Beachum and I are now officially married! We made it through the last few (stressful) months without being at each others throats - more in love than ever!

We moved up here to Portland in September - towards the end of our wedding planning. Some thought we were nuts to do it all in such a small amount of time. We figured that if we could make it through all of this, we can do just about anything. We are looking forward to our honeymoon in Mexico, where we can relax, drink margaritas, and visit with family.

Thank you to our friends and family that made the trip to Portland to celebrate with us and to those who couldn't make it, we missed you!
